Are you planning an extended holiday to Koh PhaNgan? So you want to spend time relaxing in the sun or dancing on the rooftops? Do you enjoy sharing your holiday with the animals around you?
Why not live life to the fullest while helping Koh PhaNgan’s animals to do so also?
PAC’s increasing workload has resulted in expansion to a fourth member of the team the role of Clinic Assistant is structured for long-term volunteers, preferably with two volunteers sharing the week, to maximise island enjoyment! We request our volunteers to stay for a minimum of 2 months (while strongly encouraging longer!) for training and familiarity with the clinic’s routine, thereby allowing the Clinic Assistant to become an independent and responsible member of our small PAC team.
Our Clinic Assistant is asked to work a regular schedule, which varies depending on the number of volunteers at the time. The work (as the title suggests!) involves assisting PAC’s two nurses and Administrator in the daily running of the clinic, most importantly, to monitor and ensure the comfort of our hospitalised patients: we usually have between 3 and 10 hospitalised animals at any one time, all of whom we strive to keep as clean, comfortable and happy as possible.
This is a unique opportunity to make the most of your time abroad: involve yourself fully in the daily life of a Thai island; get to know a delightful breed of animal; become fully involved in the healing processes of our patients; and experience the immense satisfaction of a previously ill animal, returning home healthy.
If you are only visiting for a short time, you are still welcome to drop by and help out for a day please call to arrange this in advance.

Personal Overseas Development (POD) finds and places volunteers with PAC, to fill the Clinic Assistant position. Volunteers pay a stipend to POD for the organisation of their placement, a percentage of which is donated to PAC. |
